Andrea Cottrell, M.Ed

Andrea joined Mikunda Cottrell Accounting & Consulting, Inc. in 2019 as a staff accountant, bringing a diverse background and a wealth of experience to the firm. Before transitioning to accounting, she spent 25 years in education as a teacher and school administrator, serving communities across rural Alaska, Fairbanks, Wasilla, and Anchorage. Her time in education instilled a strong foundation in leadership, financial oversight, and problem-solving. While working full-time, she also earned a Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Alaska Anchorage, further enhancing her ability to manage complex operations.

Throughout her career, Andrea developed a strong foundation in customer service, problem-solving, and account management, overseeing both family and program accounts. Her expertise in office management and insurance further enhances her ability to support clients with precision and care, making her an invaluable member of the firm.

Outside of work, Andrea enjoys fishing, golfing, traveling, and unwinding at the beach. Whether watching Alaska’s breathtaking summer sunsets or exploring new destinations, she embraces adventure wherever she goes. Andrea also values her close connections with family, who are spread across Colorado, Portland, Oregon, and Alaska.
